Commission For a Cause raises over $100k for Sandcastles children’s hospice.

Euroz Hartleys' seventh annual Commission for a Cause fundraising day has once again made a meaningful impact, raising an impressive $309,000 for three WA charities.

Each year, for one dedicated day, WA’s largest stockbroking and wealth management firm donates 100% of brokerage commissions to charity.

This year’s beneficiaries of the event, held on Friday 13 June, included Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, Breast Cancer Care WA, and Ocean Heroes – supporting programs in diversity and inclusion, children’s health, women’s health, and mental health.

PCHF CEO Carrick Robinson said: “This year, over $100,000 in funds raised for PCHF will support WA’s first children’s hospice, Sandcastles, providing families with a warm and nurturing ‘home away from home’ where specialist respite and end-of-life care can be delivered with compassion and dignity.

“Thanks to the generous support of Euroz Hartleys’ Commission for a Cause, we’re another step closer to achieving our long-held vision of creating a sanctuary for families, where they can share precious moments together, form meaningful connections with others on similar journeys, and receive exceptional hospital-quality care.”

Since the initiative began in 2019, Commission for a Case has now contributed over $2.17 million to local causes improving lives across the state. On this day, the Euroz Hartleys’ team handles four to five times their usual trading volume – a testament to the generosity of both staff and clients giving back.

Andrew McKenzie, Executive Chairman at Euroz Hartleys, said the event created a real buzz from the moment trading opened at 8am, with many large institutional clients timing their trades so that they could make a difference, knowing the brokerage commissions were going to worthy charities.

“We’re enormously grateful to our clients and to our staff who demonstrate that, by working together, great things can be achieved for our community” Mr McKenzie said.

Mr McKenzie added: “For us to execute more than $100 million in trades over the course of the day’s fundraising is not unexpected, simply because so many of our clients get behind this special fundraiser.

“The speculation as to what the grand total will continue to be part of the excitement each year, especially as our staff have met representatives of the three charities and appreciate just what an impact the extra money will have on the work that they do. Giving back to our community is part of our culture and we’re proud to once again make a significant difference to three outstanding WA charities.”
