Easter comes early to PMH

The smell of freshly baked hot cross buns filled the wards at Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday 12 April thanks to Foundation supporter and philanthropist Melissa Karlson and members of her be giving initiative, along with Coles supermarket.

Stitches the Bear was on hand helping a number of be giving volunteers and Foundation staff members deliver some pre-Easter happiness in the form of traditional hot cross buns to children, families and staff.

Our CEO Denys Pearce said the support of Ms Karlson and her fellow be giving members, combined with  Coles’ generosity in donating 2,500 hot cross buns, injected a huge amount of Easter cheer for hundreds of children and their families who were in need of medical care at the hospital over the Easter period.

It was a wonderful opportunity to be working with the be giving team and Coles to offer children, their families and carers an early taste of some of the treats on offer at Easter time,” said Mr Pearce.

“Something as simple as a hot cross bun can be really special to a child in a hospital bed, and at the same time it’s a lovely thank you for the wonderful staff members that look after them.”

Thank you to Coles and be giving for your generosity!
